Judea Pearl is Chancellor's professor of computer science and statistics at UCLA and director of the UCLA Cognitive Systems laboratory. A graduate of the Technion, Haifa, Israel. Pearl is known internationally for his contributions to artificial intelligence, human reasoning, and philosophy of science, and is the recipient of numerous scientific prizes, including the ACM A.M. Turing Award (2011) and the BBVA Frontiers of Knowledge Award (2023).
